Pole Position and a P2 at DKM Ampfing
Henri Möhring made an impressive comeback to the top ranks of the German Mini Kart Championship last weekend. At the traditional Schweppermannring in Ampfing, the youngster dominated on Saturday in partly wet conditions and crowned his performance on Sunday with second place in the final. The ten-year-old has now moved up to second place in the championship and has reaffirmed his title ambitions. Henri left no room for doubt in qualifying, confidently securing pole position on a wet track.
The ADAC Hessen-Thüringen protégé was also unbeatable in the subsequent heats, impressively defending his top position with two race wins. “Saturday was really perfect. I immediately had a good feeling for the technically demanding track and we found a top setup,” said the Schöneck native, looking back.
On Sunday, the track dried out – new conditions, but Henri once again proved to be well prepared. In the Super Heat, he fought an exciting battle for victory, but did not take any unnecessary risks and secured pole position for the final once again with second place. In the final race, there was a fierce battle at the front. A trio fought for victory. Henri kept up consistently, tried to attack, and finally crossed the finish line in a strong second place. The 7L-Performance team driver thus deservedly stood on the podium and collected important points for the overall standings.
“That was a really good weekend. After a difficult start to the season, I’m super happy that we can now race at this level. I’m grateful for the support of my team 7L-Performance and my partners ready4energy, the PHM Academy, and ADAC Hessen-Thüringen. Now I want to keep pushing and give it my all in the last two races,” said Henri, highly motivated. In just two weeks, Henri will use a test race as part of the West German ADAC Kart Cup in Kerpen to prepare. From August 15 to 17, the next DMKM race will take place at the Erftlandring, where Henri will once again fight for victory.
