Just one week after his debut in the OK-N Junior class, Henri Möhring was back on the starting grid in Viterbo, Italy. This time, the third round of the WSK Super Masters Series took place at the Leopard Circuit. The young driver competed against around 300 drivers from 60 nations. Despite difficult, changeable conditions, the ADAC Hessen-Thüringen e.V. sponsored driver and member of Motorsport Team Germany once again proved himself to be one of the fastest drivers in the OK-N Junior class.

Henri already impressively demonstrated his potential in the free practice sessions. He was consistently among the frontrunners, especially in the rain, and set the fastest time in several warm-ups. In qualifying, Henri deliberately opted for an offensive strategy. Without slipstreaming, he set his times completely on his own, finishing fourth in his group and seventh overall in the standings. “We didn’t want to play tactics, we just wanted to show that we had the speed. And we did,” was his clear conclusion.

In the following first heat, he didn’t give his competitors a chance: he won his first OK-N Junior race with a lead of over five seconds, leaving the current championship leader far behind. He confirmed his performance in the following heats. On a dry track, he fought a thrilling battle for victory in the second heat and was beaten by just a few tenths of a second to finish second. In the third heat, an unfortunate incident on the first lap prevented another top result after Henri had to swerve onto the grass and lost valuable positions.

After his strong results, he went into Sunday afternoon’s pre-final in third place. The protégé from Team Dörr Motorsport was once again among the frontrunners, driving in second place for a long time and ultimately finishing the race in a controlled fourth place. This put him in sixth place on the grid for the grand final. An intense battle ensued there. Henri showed strong dueling skills, defended cleverly, and fought for every position. In the end, he was classified seventh and once again brought home a top ten result in a highly competitive international field.

“I felt really good all weekend. The kart was fantastic in the rain and winning the first heat was obviously a highlight. Sure, we had hoped for a little more after the results for the final, but I’m taking a lot of positives away with me and looking forward to the next races,” said Henri after the weekend.

He will be back in action in just two weeks’ time, when the WSK Super Masters Series kicks off its fourth round at the South Garda Circuit in Lonato. Unlike in Viterbo, Henri has already had a few days of testing on the track and is keen to translate that experience into another top result.
