A new challenge awaited Henri Möhring last weekend. The up-and-coming racing driver was given the chance to compete in the Tony Kart works team. The brand has won numerous world and European championship titles and is one of the most successful in the world. Henri knew how to prove himself and set several exclamation marks. He will be back in the “green” kart next week.

”A few weeks ago, we received an invitation to test with the Tony Kart works team, which we gladly accepted and Henri impressed us,” says his father Christian Möhring. The young racing driver from Schöneck quickly got used to his new kart and was now at the start of the first race.

“The Super Cup of the World Series Karting (WSK) took place in Franciacorta. 39 young drivers from all over the world competed in the Mini U10 category. He was already among the front runners in the free practice sessions, but did not catch the right window for his fastest lap in the later qualifying session. With such a high concentration of competitors, it was a challenge to get to the front, and the ten-year-old was also a little nervous. “I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited. The atmosphere and work in such a team is something completely different, plus all the communication with the data engineers and team members is in English,” Henri gave a little insight.

On Saturday and Sunday, however, he regained the necessary composure and even the changeable weather did not put him off his stride. He fought his way up four places in two heats and finished 13th, just three seconds behind the winner, confirming the high level of performance in the field. The best race of the weekend was the pre-final, in which he moved up from 14th on the grid to seventh. Added to this was his great fighting spirit to hold his own in the experienced field of drivers. “Of course, I had expected a bit more than 25th place in the final. Nevertheless, we can draw a very positive conclusion and I’m already looking forward to the next race,” continued the youngster from Hesse.

The next start for Tony Kart awaits the ADAC Hessen-Thüringen protégé as early as next week. A race of the Italian championship will then take place in Lonato. “Henri will miss the DMKM final in Wackersdorf because of the start. The title has already been awarded there and we have already decided to focus on 2025. This is an opportunity that we want to take advantage of and which will greatly strengthen Henri’s further development,” concludes his father Christian.
