Henri Möhring has achieved one of his major goals for the season. At the finale of the German Karting Championship at ProKart Raceland Wackersdorf, the young racer clinched the title ahead of schedule. After an outstanding season with four final victories in the first four events, the ADAC Stiftung Sport-sponsored driver was already confirmed as the new German Junior Karting Champion on Saturday evening. With 36 drivers, the OK-N Junior class was once again highly competitive at the season finale. Henri entered the weekend as the clear championship leader and was among the front-runners from the start. In qualifying, the Schönecker driver took third place, putting him in a strong position for the decisive heats.

In the first heat, Henri finished second, before returning to the lead in the second heat and claiming the victory. As the runner-up in the standings, the outcome was already decided: The Dörr Motorsport driver had accumulated enough points and was able to celebrate winning the German Junior Karting Championship even before the final races. On Sunday, however, the focus was once again on the final race. After finishing seventh in the Super Heat, Henri started the final from fourth on the grid. A tight battle unfolded at the front of the pack. The newly crowned champion was right in the thick of the action among the leading group and even took the lead at one point. In the closing stages, he lost a few positions and ultimately crossed the finish line in fifth place.

Das Ergebnis änderte nichts an einer beeindruckenden Saisonbilanz. Henri gewann die ersten vier Finals des Jahres und beendet die Meisterschaft mit 466 Punkten. Sein Vorsprung auf den Zweitplatzierten betrug am Ende 77 Zähler.

“With four wins in the first four races, we got off to a perfect start to the year. I’m thrilled to have won the title and am simply grateful for all the support from my team, Doerr Motorsport; my mechanic, Philipp Belgraver, the ADAC Stiftung Sport, Antonio Labella from ready4energy, Kart Republic, IAME, DFR and so many other people behind the scenes,” Henri reflected on his successful DJKM season after the season finale. The young driver is particularly proud of his consistency throughout the year. Together with Doerr Motorsport, he established himself at the top of the new OK-N Junior category right from the start of his rookie year and has now been rewarded with the championship title.

For Motorsport Team Germany and the ADAC Sports Foundation as well, winning the title marks yet another success in Henri’s still-young career. The 11-year-old has been a member of the German development squad since the start of this season and has continued to make impressive strides both nationally and in his international competitions.

However, there isn’t much time to celebrate. Henri will be returning to Wackersdorf as early as this coming weekend. The season finale of the ADAC Kart Masters will take place there from October 2 to 4. He’s heading into that championship as the points leader as well and has the chance to cap off his successful national season with another title. At the same time, preparations are already underway for the next major international event. In the coming days, Henri will travel to Viterbo, Italy, to prepare for the FIA Karting OK-N Junior World Cup alongside the Kart Republic factory team. From October 9 to 11, he will face international competition there and, following his strong performances so far, hopes to make another big impression at the World Cup level.
