Henri dominates DKM in Cheb
Henri Möhring made a strong statement at the second round of the German Kart Championship. At the DKM’s debut at the Fun Arena Cheb in the Czech Republic, the young driver from Schöneck dominated the OK-N Junior class for nearly the entire weekend and, after securing pole position, two heat wins, and victory in the Super Heat, also claimed the final win along with the fastest lap of the race.
Germany’s top kart racing series made its debut on the 1.202-kilometer track in the Czech Republic. With 145 drivers in five classes, a challenging track, and mostly sunny and warm conditions, the weekend proved to be a successful addition to the championship. For Henri, everything went perfectly from the very first session: In qualifying, the Dörr Motorsport driver set the fastest lap, securing the best possible starting position.
He left no doubt about his form in the two heats either. The ADAC Hessen-Thüringen e.V. development driver won both heats, drove flawlessly, and consequently led the standings on Saturday evening. In doing so, he not only confirmed his qualifying pace but also delivered a controlled and mature performance in actual race conditions.
On Sunday, the young driver from Hesse continued his winning streak. In the Super Heat, Henri secured another victory and also set the fastest lap of the race. As a member of Motorsport Team Germany, he once again underscored his strong development in the new season. In the decisive final, however, Henri initially had to withstand the pressure from his pursuers. His rivals briefly took the lead, but the Dörr Motorsport driver remained calm, stayed in contention, and waited for his chance. In the second half of the race, he struck back, retook the lead, and cruised to victory. He capped off his perfect weekend with the fastest lap of the race.
“It was great fun to battle at the front again. The track was new to the DKM and really exciting to drive. I felt very comfortable right away. We had a strong package, and I’m very happy that we were able to finish the weekend this way. I’d especially like to thank my team for their excellent support,” Henri said, summarizing his success.
With his second strong DKM weekend in a row, Henri Möhring has further extended his lead in the OK-N Junior class. Following the race in Cheb, the young driver—who is sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation—leads the championship with 195 points. There isn’t much time to catch his breath: Over the next two weekends, he’ll face the international junior field at Arena E in Mülsen. The Sachsen circuit will first host the Champions of the Future event in preparation for the mid-season round of the FIA Karting European Championship. Henri will be on the starting grid for both events.
