After his successful debut in the Tony Kart Racing Team at the WSK Super Cup two weeks ago, Henri Möhring was back on the road for the works team last weekend. The final of the Italian championship took place on the South Garda Circuit in Lonato. The youngster from Hesse kept the international Mini competition at bay and celebrated a highly regarded second place.

A full field of international junior racers awaited Henri Möhring on the 1,200 meter long circuit on the edge of Lake Garda. It was his first start with the Tony Kart on the South Garda Circuit and he felt at home straight away. “I already had a very good feeling in Franciacorta and was able to build on that here,” said the youngster in high spirits after the training sessions.

Henri got off to a perfect start with a tenth place in qualifying and continued to move up through the heats. He was able to really celebrate after the first final. After ten laps and a consistently impressive speed, he crossed the finish line in second place and was honored with a big trophy. But that was not all: in the second round, the man from Schöneck led the race. In the final meters, however, his rivals took advantage of the slipstream of the leader and the race was decided in the final corners. The pursuers passed Henri – he saw the chequered flag in fourth place. He was the best driver with a Tony Kart in both finals.

“Wow, what a great weekend. The cooperation with the team is very professional and helps me with my development. It’s a great feeling to have stood on the podium here. The competition was strong and very experienced. We’ll now build on this and I’m looking forward to more races with the Tony Kart Racing Team,” said the ADAC Hessen-Thüringen e.V. protégé, summarizing his race weekend in Italy.

After this outstanding performance, the next international races are already on the Hessian’s calendar. His next start is planned for the Tropheo Delle Industrie, also in Lonato.
