Henri Möhring traveled to Mülsen this weekend for the big season finale of the ADAC Kart Masters. After a good race preparation, it was all about a place on the overall podium for the youngster from Schöneck. Despite partly turbulent races he reached his goal and was honored as third at the championship celebration.

Already a few weeks ago Henri Möhring was able to cheer. He won the Rotax Max Challenge Germany and thus secured the qualification for the big world final in Bahrain. This weekend, however, the finals of the ADAC Kart Masters awaited him. The national race series was hosted for the second time this year on the 1,350-meter track.

But it was already clear in qualifying that it wasn’t going to be an easy weekend this time. A spoiler penalty relegated him to 16th place. “In the slipstream and at full throttle, a driver in front of me suddenly let off the gas and I ran into him. I had no chance to get out of the way, the penalty is already very harsh,” Henri summarized what happened. In the heats it was then a challenge to break away from the midfield. The riders hung together closely as usual on the track in Mülsen – the positions sometimes changed several times in one lap. Henri was also unlucky to get out of the race a few times. In the end, he nevertheless improved to twelfth place and was thus within reach of the top ten again.

With a perfect start, the nine-year-old youngster advanced to seventh place in the first final on Sunday. But it was not to be, directly in front of him there was a collision and the race was lost. He only reached the finish in the chasing pack. From 23rd place, he then fought his way up to 16th place in the final race. However, the big championship points failed to materialize.

After the initial disappointment, however, the joy over third place in the U10 overall standings prevailed in the evening. “My expectations for the weekend were naturally higher, but that’s how it is in motorsport. I have learned a lot again and am only getting stronger as a result. A big thank you to the TB Racing Team and my partners for the great support in my first Kart Masters season”, concluded the ADAC Hessen-Thüringen e.V. support driver.
